About the speaker

Karl Van Hoey is an ICF Master Certified Coach, Mentor Coach, Advisor and Keynote Speaker. His mission is to make the impact of his clients on strategy execution more sustainable, focusing on the human side.  Following long and extensive experience in corporate HR leadership roles, in 2014 he founded his own consultancy and coaching practice. In 2018 Karl joined www.otolith-consulting.com as their coaching practice leader. In 2020, he co-founded The Teamcoaching Global Alliance (www.teamcoaching.global), providing top class training in the ICF Teamcoaching Competencies, that he helped develop as a subject matter expert within ICF

Karl is one of the few ICF/MCC coaches in Belgium. He was leading the ICF Community of practice on team coaching for 6 years. As a Senior Subject Matter Expert for ICF he contributes in the continuous development of (team) coaching core competencies. He is also assessor of coaches seeking an ICF credential. Karl is globally active and trilingual (ENG – NL – FR)

Karl has been a volunteer for the International Coaching Federation for many years.

Karl lives in Antwerp, Belgium with his wife and son. He gives a fair amount of his free time to the local community

Session Description

Your taParticipants will enjoy a very active and interactive session about the new ICF Team Coaching Competencies developed in 2019-2020. Karl Van Hoey (MCC), together with a team of experts, has contributed as a senior subject matter expert in the ICF Taskforces, to the development of this new set of competencies. So, he will share with participants a unique look into what happened behind the scenes of ICF in 2019-2020. Participants will not only gain insight and practice of the team coaching competencies, but also a unique understanding of the vision, background, context, and philosophy behind them.  The question of what differentiates teams from groups will be touched upon, and also how to deal with both as a coach.  Finally, attention will be paid to how the team coaching competencies work together with the “conventional core competencies” as we all know them. Prepare yourself for a very interactive, intense experience where the ICF team coaching competencies will truly come alive!

We will learn how to upgrade our actual way of working with teams, into the official ICF approach, and get the chance of bringing this into practice.
