[BFC] Coaching in a Foreign Language – Ready to Dare! A Trans-Chapter Event in English

Coaching knows no borders—how about your practice? 🚀

On February 25th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, ICF France (Occitanie and Bourgogne Franche-Comté branches) is partnering with ICF Italia to offer you a unique experiential journey: “Coaching in a Foreign Language, Ready to Dare!”.

Facilitated by Sylvie Filipski (PCC) and Stacey Marie Hiebert (ACC), this interactive workshop has already inspired coaches and other professionals from over 15 countries during ICW 2025.

Why join this adventure? Coaching in a language other than our own is an extraordinary opportunity to strengthen our Core Competencies. By simplifying our language, we leave more room for intuition, energy, and a deep presence.

✨ On the agenda:

• Understand the potential benefits and challenges of coaching in a foreign language for both coach and client.
• Explore how linguistic differences can be leveraged to enhance the coaching process.
• Reflect on your own beliefs and assumptions about language in coaching.
• Have the opportunity to gently step outside your comfort zone to test, learn, and explore new possibilities with us, all while having some fun!

This workshop is designed for coaches with an intermediate to advanced level of English (listening/understanding) who wish to transform their vulnerability into coaching power. If you’re already coaching internationally, that’s wonderful!  And please keep in mind that this unique space is created for those who haven’t yet dared.

Sylvie Filipski

An ICF mentor coach, ICF PCC-certified coach, CSA-certified supervisor and former Coordinator of the ICF France Credentials Committee, Sylvie is deeply committed to the professionalization of coaches.

She has been supporting her clients taking care of their professional identity, rediscovering the deep connection with what drives them.
Since 2012, she has specialized in systemic outdoor coaching (ICF Synergie speaker), a practice she regularly transmits as a forerunner via various online workshops or in emblematic locations.

A polyglot with a master degree in International Relations and currently preparing a degree in Occitan, a minorized language, she is a member of both ICF France and ICF Italia and is regularly involved in international projects.

Stacey Hiebert  

An ICF-certified ACC Professional Coach and Neurolanguage Coach®, Stacey is the creator of the Language Explorers podcast. Drawing on her background as an educator in multicultural environments, she helps coaches reclaim their voice in a second language by harmonizing practical skills with the mindset needed to overcome internal blocks and coach with impact.

Originally from the Canadian “Wild West,” Stacey’s perspective is shaped by her journey of immigrating to France and mastering a new language as an adult. Beyond her practice, she promotes the coaching profession as a volunteer for ICF France and contributes to global women’s empowerment as a mentor with Inspired Women Lead, reflecting her commitment to collective leadership, inclusion and mutual support.

Stacey empowers professionals to transform linguistic vulnerability into a deep, empathetic presence, allowing them to step into the international arena with confidence and heart.
